Magans Bar and B&B

null

Magan’s public house, bakery, hardware store was established in 1826 when Michael  Magan married Frances O’Farrell, a daughter of Thady O’Farrell who lived in Killashee.  Charles Bianconi had a stage coach stop here in the early 1800’s and the coach house still exists today.  The pub and shop got many of their supplies off the Royal Canal for generations. Guinness and fertiliser were regularly delivered down the 140 kilometre journey from Spencer Dock to Savage Bridge. Magans has featured on a number of documentaries about the Royal Canal, presented by well known TV personalities including Dick Warner and Manchán Magan.

Come bask in the aroma of Magan’s House olde worlde Pub. Be welcomed by the friendly face and traditional charm of seventh generation inn-keeper, Dan and his wife Louise. Take in the sights and smells of this little haven. Witness the craic of local banter at the bar. Unwind with a drink in an appropriately lit environment before a short climb upstairs to bed.  Perfect for team building or a group booking to really experience the heart and soul of Killashee.  Experience walking tours along the Royal Canal Greenway and an itinerary provided by Magans.  You will arrive on Friday with supper and then drinks in the bar, before then getting a good nights sleep in one of their traditional Irish rooms.
